Users will be able to create a new IH sample. 

Business Rules

  • Users will neeed to have the appropriate IH Role and Scope for the Sample being created.
  • Samples can only be created at a specific Location
  • Depending on the specific Company business rules, the selection of certain fields may or may not be mandatory.


Step-by-step Instructions:

Creating a Planned IH Sample:

  1. Click on the Modules icon.
  2. Click on the Industrial Hygiene menu item.
  3. Click on the Create New Sample menu item.

  4. Sample Date will default to the current date. 

  5. Select type of the Sample to create by clicking on the radio button.  (Refer to Sample types for additional information.)
  6. Click on the Next button.



  7. Select the Sample Plan Record.
  8. Click on the Next button.

   

      9. Complete the Sample Details.
    10. Click on the Save button. 

           


 

Sample TypesDescription
Planned Samples A sample that belongs in a Sample plan. This can either be done for baseline/periodic. Planned Sample will receive credit against the Facility Sample Plan. 
Diagnostic SamplesNot tied to/counted against any Sample plans.
Field Blank SamplesThese are necessary for Chemical Samples and can also be created once a planned/diagnostic sample has been created. 
Copy Existing SampleAllows user to make a copy of an already existing sample.


Sample Details Information

  • All required fields (*) must be completed in the 3 subsections in order to save the Sample Details 
  • Sample Information Section - Key Fields
    FieldsDescription
    IH LogAutomatically generated by IH Module
    Sample IDField is mandatory and allows person to capture any unique information with the sample.
    Hazard TypeHas an impact of future sections of the application, so appropriate selection is necessary. Upon saving these selections, user will not be able to make any changes to the Hazard Type.
    Sample EquipmentThe equipment selection will define additional information required as part of collecting the sample. Upon saving these selections, user will not be able to make any changes to the Hazard Type.
    Duration TypeThis field will determine applicable Limit Value when comparing sample result.
