PMP-72869 Create Encounters Independent of Appointments

Configurable: NA

  • Title: NA
  • Public/Private: NA
  • Default: Will be able to create encounters directly

Existing System:

  • Appointment creation in the system by a user is mandatory before any encounter creation

Purpose:

  • There are few medical cases where the user doesn't go for an appointment. The user has a direct encounter with the healthcare provider
  • Here the user need not follow the traditional way of creating appointments, which is not required for them and can be time-consuming

Enhanced System:

  • Directly create encounter type in the system
  • New menu link to create encounter independent of appointment above Appointment Calendar
  • Clicking this will take the user to Create Encounter Type page
  • User can choose the employee and click Save or Cancel
  • On saving it will take the user to the Encounter Type details screen. Cancel will close this page and take the user to the Appointment Central page

Section 1:

  • List of all Encounter Types available in the system
  • User can choose single or multiple encounters

Section 2:

  • User needs to select the employment status, personnel type and select the desired employee

Section 3 :

Will show the following fields. For some default values to be saved and hidden in this screen,  the user can edit in appointment detail

  • Date, Time – Current date and time
  • Visit Reason - "Medical"
  • Visit Type - "Office"
  • Department - non-mandatory product wide
  • Healthcare Entity - "TBD"
  • Healthcare Provider -"Health Care Provider" / only if created through Add Encounter will show this value. Will not appear in Healthcare Provider lookup as this will be system-generated similar to COVID-19 Encounter Type
  • No appointment notification to be sent for the Encounter Type creation
  • The system needs to show an alert message on double booking of encounter of Healthcare Provider and employee (similar logic to be applied)
  • Link and the page will be driven by Encounter Permission
  • Existing Data: NA
  • Impacts:
    • Appointment Central - to show the appointments with default saved values. The user can edit those values if required.
    • Appointment list - to show the appointments with default saved values. The user can edit those values if required.
    • Employee Medical Profile - to show the appointments with default saved values. The user can edit those values if required.
    • Appointment Calendar -  Since this is not a real user, no appointment calendar dropdown will show for this user, i.e., Appointment Calendar, Healthcare Provider lookup, Team Roster
    • Employee Demographics Report - to show appointment with default values
