Users will learn how to add/manage Sample Results - Noise.

  • Users must have created the Sample Details.
  • Sample Equipment section must be Completed.

Adding Sample Results - Noise from an existing Noise Sample                                                                                                                                                                    

  1. Click on Modules.
  2. Navigate to Industrial Hygiene.
  3. Select Manage Samples menu item.



  4. Click on the hyperlinked IH Log Number from the Sample List Screen.



  5. Click on the Add button located to the right of Sample Result.



  6. Complete the Result Noise Equipment section. (Refer to Result Noise Equipment Information for more details)    
  7. Click on the Save Result button.

Step by step Instructions

Completing the Sample CIH Information


CIH Information Business Rule

  • User must have permission set to Approve/Invalidate


  1. From the Sample Dashboard Summary, expand the Sample Result section. (Refer to the Comparison to Limits section for criteria for color-coding.)
  2. Click on the hyperlinked Results/Projected



  3. Expand the Sample CIH information section. 
  4. Approve/Invalidate the Sample. 
  5. Complete the required fields.  (Refer to Sample approved for additional information on Approved Date and Approved By fields.)

  6. Click Save CIH button. 



  7. Click Ok button on the confirmation window.

Result Noise Equipment Information

  • Dose Measured - This field is used to generate the Results.  System will calculate results applying Dose Measured and applicable formula associated with Doubling Exchange, Threshold & Criteria.
  • L Peak - This field is for Information Usage Only.  Only numeric values are permitted.
  • Result Details section - This section is non-editable. All values will be populated, once the user save the Dose Measured field.

Comparison to Limits Configuration

The Sample Result will be compared against the Adjusted OEL Value.  The following criteria has been established:

Sample Approved Fields Information:

Field NameDescription
Approved DateDate when the Sample was approved. 
Approved ByPick list will be based on system users.
Corrective Action Required?
  • If Sample is an “Over Exposure” Classification, then Corrective Action box will defaulted with a check.  If box is checked a default Corrective Action will be created.

19.1 Update

  • In IH Report Email if below check boxes are selected, then system to send email without any alert message even if "To" field is blank
    • Send to employee
    • Send to employee supervisor
  • Applicable for all physical and chemical samples
  • If employee is not mandatory in Sample Detail and user has not entered any employee or supervisor ,it should show the same validation message if To field is blank and Send to employee and supervisor is selected.



19.1 Update

  • If a unprocessed COC file is deleted in system then Sample status would auto-change from Sent to Lab to Not Sent to Lab
  • A Processed COC or a manually edited sample whose status has changed to result recieved , if deleted the status would not change .It would remain as Result Received
