Existing system

• Currently the system does not allow the users to enter any information pertaining to a chemical which has not been approved but has been returned to the requester for further course of approval.
• In case of chemicals which are returned for additional information,for further approval process ,new chemicals are required to be created.

Purpose: To provide the users the ability to enter information for any chemical for which additional information is requested by approvers during the approval process.

Enhanced System

• In the Approval Tabs, when the users request for "Additional information" ,the approval process will be re-initiated from the beginning .The Requester will be able to  enter the additional information that has been requested.The Save Buttons would be enabled for the requester.Previously this save button was disabled for the user even after the additional information was requested.So there was no way the requester could enter the additional information requested by the approver.This limitation has been removed.
• Once the initial request is resubmitted after provision of additional information ,the department which is in sequence for the approval process will get the save button for approval.
• The screenshot below shows the loop which will be followed if the option of "Return for additional information" is selected.Refer use case below for further details .

Scenario :

• Requester Bob Jones Submits a request for the chemical "Xylene".
• Chemical is approved By GADSL reviewers .Next,in the tab of Safety and Health Review ,the approver selects the option of "Return for Additional Information".

For this scenario the comparison between the previous and the enhanced state can be made as follows :

• • In the previous system, Bob Jones(the requester) would not see the save button in the request tab Hence he would not be able to enter the additional information.The chemical approval process hence ends once the Safety and Health reviewer selected "Return for additional Information".
  • In the enhanced system, after the Safety Reviewer asks for additional information ,Bob Jones would receive a notification that additional information has been requested .He then can add the additional information in the request tab .Once Bob Jones enters the additional information, GADSL approvers would receive the notification for the approval.After GADSL approvers complete the approval process ,the safety approvers would be able to see the "Submit" button in the Safety and Health Review Tab (for second round of approval,after the additional information is entered by the requester)
